Welcome to CMON! Don't let the low scores faze you, keep in mind that there are fewer people voting and lots of em vote by fave company or faction. I consider a 5 to be tabletop so if it has 3 colors, some basing and looks like you gave it a good try that's what you'll get from me lol (so put some basing on it ;) it's a bit bare but I'm gonna assume you'll base it after my comment) Hang out a bit, check out the articles and hit the forums. Starting a WIP thread of your own is a great way to get feedback and tips from people like Chrispy, Kathrynloch, Elly and other world class painters, Cassar and the sculpting crowd, and the rest of us =)
Having said that, it's my opinion that you need to thin your paints a bit and watch how many times you recross an area, you're getting thick layers that hide some of your detail. Thin them down a bit with water or flow improver/drying retarder on a palate especially if you're using craft paints. I even add retarder/flow improver to the paint I use to drybrush since it will allow the paint a chance to even out over the surface and it cuts down on the 'fuzzy' look. You might also want to take photos of your work between colors or just before you start. View them at screen resolution and you'll be able to see points that you missed or where you've gone over sections with the 'wrong' color. For instance you've got some brown on his right leg where you were going green and gold, and you went a bit overboard on the threads on his cloak. Once you've got a decent handle on getting a nice smooth layer that doesn't hide your details head on over to the articles section and check out the stuff on shading cause that's what people are all about these days. Smooth color transitions and shading.
Great start, welcome to the madness!
