The God Emperor of Mankind
My entry for the Ropecon 2013 miniatures painting contest. This was a tough one through and through, starting with my choice of doing it large-scale, and having to sculpt things like the Emperor's hand and large parts of the Golden Throne itself. Detailing the dais, on the other hand, was a joy, and I got to play with adding a hundred kinds of tiny detail everywhere. A rough estimate of the kits used as parts donors : - an OOP Eldar Dreadnought - OOP Dark Eldar Raider - IG Chimera - IG Heavy Weapons Squad - IG Baneblade - Eldar Phoenix Lord Baharroth - Space Marine vehicle accessories sprue - Cities of Dead buildings - Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbikes - Warmachine Mercenary Warjack - Pegasus Hobbies Chemical Plant - a wooden picture frame from a thrift store :D
