Just another mini

In this diorama, I tried to go for a different highlighting style, using the edges of plating as the lowlight rather than the highlight. The diorama was an excercise in model positioning - the legs of the Eldar are from the Heavy Weapon Battery, with one leg re-positioned so that the model was leaning on one thigh. I liked the way the shield arm had an open hand, in this diorama it served to show the man weakly trying to keep his attacker at bay. I would've used the naginata weapon with this look, but the piece was damaged before I made the diorama, so I settled on the diresword. as it turned out, this worked well as the arm was easy to pose with the weak wounded look I was going for with this diorama. The marine is pretty simple, he's pointing his bolter at the face of his dying opponent, but relenting from shooting while his opponent stands to face his doom. Important here, I thought, was the way the chainsword was faced. His Chainsword is not raised nor is it in a position where it can be used to kill the eldar in front of him. That said, it's clear that the chainsword has recently been used, as the eldar has a dripping gash over the middle of his chest plate and there is blood on the forest floor near his thighs and covering his open palm. I hope you like this miniature, it was made all this evening and it was a lot of fun to produce. As ever, Critiques and Comments are welcome and invited.
