The Hobbit Hole
This model was scratch-build by myself, including the wooden case. It is my free idea, not based on the movie too much, of how some quiet part of Hobbiton could look in the summer. Build was started in mid January 2013, and finished in the first days of November. It was made as a gift for my girl. All the photos were made by my friend, Mikolaj Bazaczek. I'd like to thank him a lot for his help. You can find an additional 360 photo album here: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Flash_EF/library/Nora%20Hobbita/360 More hi-res detail photos available here: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Flash_EF/library/Nora%20Hobbita During construction of this model I've tested some new techniques. Installing LED lightning inside of the hobbit hole worked out really well. I glued half of a ping-pong ball to the inside of the window, to spread and soften the light that is coming out. This was also the first time I used static grass applicator. It makes a huge difference with tall grass. I've made mine from an electric fly zapper. Works really well, and costs a fraction of what it would if you'd like to buy a retail device. The small leafs on the ground in the “forest” part and leafs on the vines are Birch seeds. Make sure to collect some if you get a chance. They are fun to work with. Hope you like it. Comments are appreciated :)
