I see a lot of white edge highlights it's the right technique but if your not going to layer on increasing tones. And wait until the end for just the highest points (a part of the edge) then try this :do what your doing and instead of changing anything how bout adding a step!! So after you jump right to whit like e.g. The sword handle ! Throw a very thinned down wash basically colored water it's called a " glaze" so use this (very thinned was) = glaze over the red parts even the white highlight and this will 1-deepen the reds and 2-make the white edge highlights have instead if that pure white color it will put a reddish sheen over that white making the two colors tied into one another so red with white highlighted edge becomes a more intense red with a off red highlight it's now a lighter highlight of red on a red not just a stark white edge against a red! It's about unifying colors!!any questions just ask!
