First mini i'm posting. also my first for non-metallic metal and first face i'm proud of.
and yes i know about the paint clumping there were a lot of layers involved.
comment on what i can do to improve and rate as you see fit.
thank you both for those tips. First off I planed on painting the base that way though I might make it so that it s fading to black. as for the layers problem i painted this before medium was released by games workshop and water just ruined the paint, but my newer miniatures have been done using medium a lot so expect to see better quality layers wise.
Same here, I like what you achieved with the face and the eye, the rest could be better. Indeed I don't know if you do it while painting, but thinning your paints is very important if you plan to use multiple layers for highlighting fro example. It prevents also the grainy look like the one on the model's skin.
Otherwise the choice of colours is good, and the lips need a bit more work, maybe a slightly darker colours (only the lower lip by the way).
Keep it up, it's nice to see KD models painted.
Hi,
the face indeed looks very nice. The lips are a bit blended with a flesh of the face, so I would could suggest you to paint the lips with contrast colour (by e.g. looking at a photo of a real person) , but the other parts IMHO are a bit messy, if I may say so, which does not do a credit to such a beautiful model of KD.
Try thinning the paint a bit when applying layers, and when applying highlights try to blend them with darker parts. The base is also mainly unfinished, so you could try to finish it or rework it, I m sure it could be a way better.
