Dung Beetle Knigh

I really liked painting this mini. Still a bit sad, that I'm unable to capture the interference color effects on the photo. The mini is so much better in life with certain parts shimmering in greens/blues and reds. please comment on this mini, thanks

thanks for the comments. christophe: there is no real face, it's more like the faceplate of a knight's armor. Zozimus: no, I didn't really use metallics, but a product from Golden Acrylics from the Interference Oxide range (that I can't seem to find anymore anywhere as if they were discontinued). They are similar to colorshifting paints, but mostly brown as a base with green as a glare (so for example if you try to look on the brown shoulderplates from above they'll be gright green in color). And of course the parts were shaded with a few transparent colors/inks (red, blue, violet, brown, black) On the wings I used something similar: interference colors (these are still available in most shops) Here the color is white with red/blue/green for the reflections. So the wings are just basically a blend between white and a greyish blue, then a few glazes of these interference colors to reflect light back like the wings of a bug.

I bet they're amazing.....from what I can see, anyway. More pics, please? :) What did you use for the iridescence? Metallics? Or not? I'm curious.

Some close ups would have been nice, especially on the face. Anyway, the metal parts look great, and one can tell you did some hue-ing (??) on them.
