Dark Emissary
I've wanted to paint this mini since he came out, and finally got one :) . The main thing here is just the experiment with adding the chequered pattern to the back of his cloak amongst the spirals - I was curious to see if it would look busy, but I think it works ok. Also a lot of very muted greyed colours as well as the richer blue and red, but they were just little experiments with bones and greys that aren't really worth a whole comment. One thing I did like though is the colour of the wood - it's quite greeny due to being base with brown + green and highlighted with a yellowy-cream colour.
