Elminster part 2

I originally painted this guy around 1992 using Testors paint. At the time I thought he was looking GREAT ( see http://www.coolminiornot.com/?id=14535 for the original. I think I have gotten a little better at painting since then. These two will be my entry for Zaphods Crappy mini or not site

The improvement is amazing (although I think you did as good a job with the old tools on the enamel version as is possible.) The simple colour scheme is great, the beard and face have loads of character, and I love the details (feathers, gem) on the staff.

Well, I for one like realistic miniatures. I think you did a bang up job on him. The face is great and the beard is better. It looks really bushy. I also am fond of the blue bauble on his staff. My suggestions for improvement would be to gloss up the pipe like well polished, well handled wood and give more woodiness to the staff.

The picture is a little small to make out details, which makes commenting hard. A "realistic" paint job like this will struggle more than something with severe highlights.
