I can't really say anything about the model, but I do have a few tips on improving your photograpy: Don't use a flash, but good lighting. Use a piece of white paper or something as a background. Use a stand for the camera. You can alternatively use a couple of books or similar stuff if you haven't got a proper camera stand. Use a self timer on the camera. That way you can avoid any vibrations, and the pictures will be sharper.

Yeah. It looks like you might have a good mini there. But it doesn't make sense to send in a blurry picture.

The painting is not the problem with this picture. You're background is in focus and the moni is not. If you don't have macro on your camera, then take the shot back further and crop it down after.
