Object 279

Tank: Object 179 Mfg: Takom Scale: 1:35 This tank was part of a diorama I was building to show the “what if” of a nuclear war between the USSR and the NATO / USA during the 1950’s and 1960’s. The tank shown is abandoned and would be in an "exclusion zone” near the destroyed city of Stalingrad. I used a variety of pigments, textures and colors to get the effects of the many layers of white paint that was applied by the crew to camouflage it during winter combat. Overall, the model was incredibly fun to build and certainly something different to have a hand at.

Nice job and I've always wondered to the sense of this Tank and its complicated running-gear. Keep living the dream ;)
