Super Dungeon Explore (Complete!)

Finally completed my SDE set! It has taken me AGES but ultimately very rewarding and fun to paint. Only all the expansions and Forgotten King to go...

Thanks for the positive comments guys, much appreciated. Yes, I did use an airbrush to some degree. Some of the minis like Rex, the dragon and the baby dragons lent themselves to airbrushing. For the others I was able to lay down a base colour with some blending or, like with some of the heroes, do the hair or cloak. There was still an awful lot of brushwork! It was my first foray into airbrushing (the two Rex's were the very first being nice and big) and it was most enjoyable. I started off with an airbrush kit that I bought off ebay which had a twin compressor with tank and a cheapo dual action airbrush. The airbrush was OK I suppose but seemed fairly prone to blocking and quite tedious to clean (annoying when you're changing colours). In fairness the blocking could have been a consequence of me being an airbrush newbie and not getting my paint consistency right. Later on I got the Iwata beginner brush, the Neo. It was markedly better than the no-name brand - easy to clean and easier to change colours on the fly. Another thing I didn't do which could give me more scope for airbrushing was masking. I recently got a tub of panzer putty and will use that on the next project (Caverns of Roxor) and hopefully be able to airbrush more. Now that I sort of know what I'm about on the airbrush front I could get things done a lot faster! However, this lot still took me loads of time - airbrush learning curve and still loads of brushwork! PS - the druid is also one of my favourites. I also really like how the ember mage came out.

I see an airbrush has helped you tons to get faster work done ^^ maybe I try it too when I got a copy of the game. Should be a good practice for me with the AB. I specially like the dwarf, the druid and the tongued chests. The little dragons are cute. And the "magic lava" effect you got on the dragon skull totems is ace.

Thanks for the votes so far people - started to get a bit despondent when it was clocking up a 5.2! I appreciate that the figures could have done with more prep/filling and photo's could be better.
