Casualty Crusader Marker

I'm rather new to miniature painting, but this is one I painted this year that I'm quite proud of. I worked on it while listening to A Game of Thrones for class, which I think inspired the overall look. Any tips and recommendations are appreciated! Including how to take better pictures of miniatures.

I like this piece! I think that a small dusting of matte spray paint (a darker shade, or even black) on the fake grass/flowers can help give them realism and depth--we're talking like hold the paint-can way far away and slowly approach to get the exact right little bit of shading you want. That's just me though. Then you can paint on a few highlights if you want, too, once you've placed it. I think keep doing what you're doing and you'll pick it all up. One pointer I can give you is this: never take a picture while holding the mini--I know it feels like you can get better control and get it closer, but all it does is give you two chances and two ways to get a fuzzy picture (camera hand and figure-holding hand).
