Knight Commander Pask with the classical Punisher Leman Russ setup. Tried out a bunch of weathering techniques on this model, including using sponges for paint chipping and weathering powders for rust, dust and grime.

Point taken about the "popcorn ceiling". I wonder if some of it doesn't come from actual surface texture that has been picked out when drybrushing on the base colors. In particular in the blue areas.
Mud was never attempted. Think forge world rusty dust! :)
To me, the weathering just isn't effective. Mud is evenly applied, which strikes me as unnatural (having been in armor myself in life). The spongework gives the surfaces a texture in the photo which looks like "popcorn ceiling" - it doesn't look like weathering, but texture.
