I spent a couple hours on this, first real attempt at any humanoid figure, it was always tyranids (They look like they are from the movie "Alien"). I've been painting for about 5 months now.
Keep it up with practice you will improve. Try experimenting with shading and highlighting. Metallic is really quite easy if you use GW paints try a base of boltgun metal second stage chainmail third stage mithril silver leaving some of the previous stage showing and finish off with a very dilute ink either black or blue.
