Welcome. This is a very promising start! I really like the text from the book that you've wrapped around the base - it's a great touch that ties in well with the mini. You've got some basic highlighting going which is good - don't be afraid to deepen some of the shadows and bring some highlights even brighter to add depth. Its something I'm having to learn and remember! Your placement of the paint is good - I'd suggest thinning your paints some more to get even more control. Good job!
