GW 40k Hellbrute

I have wanted to try my hand at painting for a good few years. Bought a load of GW minis, paints and brushes etc, then didn't actually bother. So paints went in the bin, minis given to a friend. I've now decided to try again and this is one of the minis I kept from the 40k vengeance (I think it was called) box I bought. I don't currently own any basing materials, so this is finished as is for now. It's not very good, but practise makes perfect. Defo need to watch some more vids and read some guides :)

I'd call that a good and promising start. What I see here is simple, clean but also rather flat work. The face is the only piece that looks a bit more lively (good thing, too - faces always should be the most detailed piece of a mini as they draw the eye and determine the overall experience). When you dive deeper into guides and videos I think this mini will be the perfect place to try out simple washes for shades, and drybrushed highlights to make the whole thing look more alive. Keep going and let us know what happens next!
