Thank you for the feedback and your tipps, will try them out :).
I think i have solid paintskills (maybe a 6,x), but my skills as photographer need to get better. I'm working on it :D.
Taking a picture against a white background and with the light in front of the objective is not a very good plan ;)
You can try to repeat it with a darker background, that way your attempt at OSL will "shine" a bit more. You can also try to combine a couple of pictures into one (front/back) of the miniature.
At the moment your work appears pretty washed out, because of the lighting, and I am sure people won't be willing to give you nice votings because of that, and maybe other factors.
You can also try to incorporate some black, dark grey on the coolest areas of that fire, I have seen that effect on some miniatures with a nice result, have a watch over the internet to see it done. I pretty much like what I can see here, but as I cannot see it well (as I previously told you) I prefer to keep my rating at a clean five.
Have fun painting!! ;)
