It looks great for a first mini. The painting looks like a worn, patina'd necron. Are you going for a glowing eye effect? that would need some more emphasis to make it stand out.
This is a good corroded metal look. Focus the green on areas not exposed to wear but exposed to moisture. I like the green on the thighs, but less so on the hips. Maybe it is too strong on the hips. Just finish the model including the base, and keep going with the next.
