Putting a "blank" background behind your miniatures will help everyone to appreciate your work. (even for you) If you don't have much time for setting a background up you can use your walls or even a door.
Also it would be a good idea to let the object that you are trying to photograph on a stable surface, that way the possibilities of blurring the picture will drop substantially.
