Thank you ! :D
I made the splashes myself. I cut a very pointy "crown" out of paper and glued it together like a circle. Then I used stillwater effect to make the drops at the pointy ends of the "crown".
My photo setup was a mobile phone, a bad lighted balcony and a big sheet of paper. I am not really good at photographing but thank you for your tips, I will try and put them to use next time!
I really like your paint job - as far as one can like something as disgustingly maggot like as this one ;-). I think it caught the spirit of the model exceptionally well. Are these splashes on the base part of the original model?
Your photos however, sigh :-( I don't know what your options are without buying any new equipment. In my eyes the first thing to get rid of are the shadows. May be you can try some sort of self made diffusor (e. g. silk paper, wrapping paper) in front of the flashlight or lamp. This will make your picture underexposed, but maybe you can correct that in your camera settings. Second idea: increase the distance between the mini and the background significantly, at least 1 meter I would say taking into account the shadow situation. And try to get a freeware photo software for some simple editing: auto contrast and cutting.
