Legolas

Unfortunately his face is slightly out of focus, my camera skills are yet to be perfected! In the flesh, I ended up being quite pleased with this figure, but after photography it looks a little blotchy, but all comments/advice/criticism would be most welcome as I am just starting to get back into the hobby.

Many thanks for the feedback. I agree with your comments about highlighting...by melt do you mean 'merge' the layers of colour into each other more? Is this achieved through using more transparent colours more times, or is it a case of increasing the number of actual shades to a highlight? His stomach was tricky because it was flat and I think I got carried away highlighting every little fold! His eyes are painted, his face isnt too abd. I will try and rephoto the fig and post it. Thanks once again!

More of a 5.5. When taking pics, use a tripod, if you don't already, take the picture form a lower angle, which will keep the mini in the same vertical plane with respect to the camera lens, and use the smallest apeture (biggest F-stop #) to get the greatest depth of field.

6... I have never liked the LOTR minis at all, but there is people that bring them to life... Have you seen Goatman's Arwen? Well, what concernes to your legolas, it's not bad at all, but try to melt highlights a bit more next time. And... don't highlight in circles those zones which are flat surfaces (I say that because of his tummy (stomach)). Did you paint his eyes? Good basing and I hope you'll get completely involved again into this amazing hobby soon. ;)
