@Nayaran: Yes this was a quick paintjob as a gift for a friend. I really enjoyed it and yes the paint is used thick in some areas as I recently am pretty bored of painting as smooth as possible. I am also changing my way of painting once in a while, these days I am working mainly with thicker artistic paint, pastelike, really a very enjoyable way to paint for me. Thank you for your personal oppinion and your honesty. Keep on happy painting!
Nice, but it seems a bit rushed, or are things like the scarf shadows, beard, back head and the googles intended to look like they are painted with unwartered paints?
Or is itpainted in oil and the color is thicker than it looks here? Anyway, I have seen much more smooth transitions form you, especially on busts as large as this one.
But maybe its just a special technique I am not getting :)
