it actually was my paint job, I suppose. I'm sure I shook the color for what felt like hours...still, it somehow turned out to feel like I added sand to it... Didn't dare 'strip it' again though. Did so some times when I wasn't happy with my old tin-minis (once upon a time, when I was still young and blabla... ;) ) always afraif I'd somehow melt the miniature if I used too strong a remover... friend told me not to. So I didn't. And you're right. Pic's too big too. Makes it more blurry on top of that issue. I won't exclude the 'did not wait long enough'- thought either. Will try to keep that in mind! THX for the comment!

Not sure if you got a bad cast or something, but the main problem I see is texture. There is a lot of added texture to the miniature, wether it came from the miniature itself or your paintjob, I do not know, but it is really ruining it. As it makes difficult for the viewer to understand shapes and gives a dirty feel. Also I see this is a super zoom of the original miniature, I think this picture is something around x5-6 times bigger. If it were a paint issue, it could be that you did not wait enough between layers, that you went on the thick side on each layer of paint or maybe that you drybrushed on top of it and again did not wait for it to dry... If it were a cast issue, I would ask for a replacement, Corvus belli has excellent casts!! If you want to keep her, I would strip it, and smooth the surfaces sanding carefully each area. I do not see this texture issue on your other works... so keep an eye on it. Eyes look pretty good and skin colour too though. Keep painting!! ;)
