Custom cockatrice mount WIP

My first scratch built model. It started out as a plan for an armoured cock mount, and evolved to be more like a giant, feathered raptor with bird beak. Made with aluminium armature, some Super Sculpey (not recommended), some green stuff, some Magic Sculpt and some Procreate. Will be painted and then put out for sale on Etsy.

Thanks for feedback, Maenas :) I especially agree on the pole - at first I tried to use only the hind leg for support, but the model became too heavy. I found no other solution without having to reassamble everything. The raised leg is hard to get on picture. Originally it was made to be clawing at something, before I had to make a new weight support. The model is now fully painted, I'll put out some updates pictures when I have more time.

Congratulations on that scratchbuilt! Things I appreciate: texture on feathers, specially those on the wings, some of "scalefish" texture on the neck, and the general smoothness of those parts that need to be so. Things I don't: Proportions, I think there are some problems, maybe head is a bit too big or body is a little too small. I suppose you struggled with the raised leg, looks like a problematic area at least on the pictures, and I do not understand how the leg is bended. Also the need of such a thick pole that gives stability to the project is not a nice part. My honest feedback for you, I really hope this can help you out, I would also like to note that I never have build something similar, but I can imagine the overall process and I can appreciate your efforts on it. I am sure that it will be a nice "bird of pray" when finally painted. It must be a pleasure to paint something that you have build from zero!!
