Goblin del Dani

This gob is from the old basic box. I'm putting here to know how can I improve my painting technic, because I can't see how to improve it, and making a competition with a friend of mine painting the same goblin.

Nice neat paint job. My suggestions to improve it would be to go up another layer of highlights, especially on the bald head. On the tunic, I'd go another layer both ways, highlights and shadows. The spear shaft could use a little more attention. And I'd neaten up the base. There! You asked for suggestions, you've got some :-) STill, a nice solid tabletop quality piece as is.

Augh, don't use inks. First, thin your paints further and apply more coats (there's some poor coverage on his jacket and on the spear.) Yes, it may take 6-7 coats, but you want to win, right? Also, make sure each coat dries fully before applying a new one. I suggest work 2 colours at once, so you can be painting the skin while the coat dries, then painting the coat as the skin dries. Then, using very thin paints build up a highlight on the skin and coat. The trick is to load your brush with thin paint, then touch it to some paper towel for a few seconds to drain most of it, so it doesn't flood your model. I wouldn't recommend using inks like was mentioned, as you will probably end up with a splotchy result and get frustrated.

It's not bad, but you could improve your technic by using inks. In this way you could make much better miniatures, with more shadows, coz I can't see shadows practically there. The highlight is not bad , but the shadows are missing ;)
