Barrels out of Bond I

Inspired by Matpaint. One of two, someone suggested they could be used as bookends, ha!

Thanks! I put another picture up of the back of the book, I actually got softcover books from Amazon/Ebay and sacrificed them for the project. I'm lucky that the passage I wanted to use was right in the middle of the book. I'm in the process of making another one using Return of the King for my sister. The figures in this were from the Games Workshop set. The book was aged with diluted espresso coffee, ha. The only thing I did before assembly was painting the figures and aging the book. The waterfall was made with insulation foam, woodland scenics boulders cast from Merlin's Magic, Scenic Fibers from Deluxe Brand and more than a dozen layers of Woodland Scenics water effects. Even with that you can see some of it hasn't dried completely before I snapped the picture (Christmas was calling!) I also did some airbrushing and drybrushing at different layers of the water. I learned some things I'll do differently the next time but as I said..the clock was ringing and I had to call it done haha.

This is an amazing concept. I'd love to know more on how you did it (specifically the book and the order of things - was everything built/put together before painting, or was it sub assemblies etc.?). I wouldn't mind having a go at something similar myself, would make an awesome gift for my sister. I'm assuming that the books used are just nice looking notebooks that you have aged somehow and apples text from the hobbit with printable decal paper?
