Tabletop World Tavern/Meeting Hall conversion

This building is a conversion that involved quite a bit of scratchbuilding. On Tabletop World's website, the two buildings I used are Townhouse II and Townhouse III. I saw the shape of them and thought that if both buildings were combined it would make a really interesting shape, like a large meeting hall or tavern/inn. Both of the original buildings end near the center of the photo. There was a 1" gap between the two structures which I filled in with foamcore for the walls, thin card for the timbers and roof shingles, and insulation foam cut into tiny blocks to match the stonework of the first floor. When it was all painted it ended up blending in pretty well. If you look closely you can see the two columns of shingles that are my own card. They don't match up to the existing shingles perfectly, but from tabletop height the effect works pretty well. The other components here, the barrels and crates did not come with the model, those were bought separately. ***Just one final note. This entire project was painted using nothing but craft paints from Walmart and Michaels Crafts. Contrary to many advanced painters belief, craft paints can be used to excellent effect on miniatures if they are thinned properly and used in the right amounts.
