This is perhaps the most ignorant comment I've ever seen on CMON. This miniature was sculpted in 1983, twenty five years ago. There are so many reasons to defend this sculpt, it's hard to know where to start. Firstly, Grenadier figures from this line are half the size of Rackham action figures, which makes sculpting a tad more difficult. Secondly, these figures were cast in lead or mostly lead alloys. Because of the softeness of lead there are some technical difficulties in casting, mold making and figure support which modern sculptors needn't consider. Lastly and most importantly, you can't take the sculpt out of its era. If you compare the sculpts to other comtemporaries (like Heritage's Dungeon Dwellers) or previous "tin soldiers" from the 1970's or earlier the detail is absolutely stunning. You don't trash Chuck Berry because he has no distortion pedal. You don't say that the Beatles suck because they have no synthesizer. Give the sculptor some credit. He was a pioneer and did a damn good job. ... Oh and the paint job is pretty good too.

It's a little sad when people sculpt figures without looking at what they are sculpting. They paintjob is ok, white is not the easiest to paint really good, but the figure here just takes away anything good the paint did. sorry
