Phoenix Guard of Asuryan's Shrine II

These are the closer pictures of my Asuryan’s Shrine Guard. They are obviously based on a Roman Empire but I always thought fire colours are more adequate for the Phoenix Knights. I admire their heavy armours and I wanted to give them more aggressive look, so the Asur glif on the banner is more druchii style. I also adopted black eyeballs from the codex concept sketches that I think looks more threatening and alien. Also under the impression of sketches I wanted to add “incrustations” on all helmets but I gave up after a command group.

Im using the 'shadow eye sockets' for my army too.. got the idea from kenshiro and I think it works well :). Your golden armours looks impressive, but the red cloacks are a bit flat, another highlight layer should help. Also the snow, Im not a big fan of snow bases, but from what I had seen around it looks a bit 'flawless' more like white sand than snow. You got a great picture here, the metals arent mess at all.. Im still no good at shoting metals.. damn.

Spectacular photography! I love the way this unit of troops looks all lined up on the snowy bases. Fantastic colors. Reminds me of a Roman legion.
