Flying Disc Chariot of Tzeentch
I have uploaded a really crappy pic of this one a while ago, I'll leave it uploaded to remind me that it is worth something to fiddle around with your computer instead of miniatures... :-) This was my most ambitious project so far. The disc was the starting-point. I especially like how it turned out, because I sculpted it myself (Using some parts here and there, of course.). The Moonman with the sword is an old Tzeentch wizard with his right hand swapped for one holding a sword. The Moonman with the hook is based on a Chaos Wizard, the head is self-made also. The hook was soldered together, positioned roughly while converting the former wizard, using the finished disc as a guideline. The wooden shaft was then sculpted arount the wire, the forehead-skin of the disc was one of the last finishing touches after everything was in it's place. The beasts were next, both are based on Epic Scale Dominatrices, combined with the heads of Red Terrors and assorted Tyranid parts. The last; and hardest, part was finding out how to make a tongue to act as a connection between the disc and the beasts: It is tin foil, bent into the correct shape, filled with putty and then attached to the beasts and the disc after they were finished and based. The first idea was to make the tongue from a material that is strong enough to support the whole disc, complete with the riders to make it seem floating. I could not come up with a good enough idea, so I had to resort using the tail of the disc to anchor it in the base. The blood and froth was created using stretched flying-base-plastic. Painting was straightforward, with the foil-banners painted freehand. Sadly, the model was neglected on GD UK 2002 because they thought it did not fit into the GW context. I hope You like the pic!
