Autumn Witch

This mini is from the third Elmore masterworks box set. (Yes, I know the set not out yet, but somebody somewhere likes me!) She is based on the painting “Early Snow” and I tried real hard to stay true to the color scheme used on the painting. I did however, wimp out on doing the more ‘elaborate’ detail on the cloak. Other wise, I am very proud of this piece as I really ‘pushed’ myself on the shading on the cloak, working with flow improving mediums to blend better. I used a craft 'fake snow' on the base to also try and match the original painting feel of an early winter. I feel to date this is most likely the best mini I have done, I am very proud of her. I think I still need to work on my skin though. As usual comment and advice are always welcome!

Actually it's because I don't do skin well at all. But I am working on it and trying to get better. It is my 'next' painting goal.

Nice job, LT. The texture on the cloak seems interesting. Is it achieved by drybrushing?, somehow, it seems like crushed velvet. The hair tone is nice and warm, and the face detail is spot on. There is a lack of definition on the skin, though. but it may be caused for the harsh lighting you seemed to use for taking the pic. An all around good paintjob.
