Ragnar on pier - Scale 75

As I am a relatively new painter I thought it would be worthwhile joining the community. My minis are by no means perfect so I am always open to criticism. This mini was mainly an experiment in diorama composition with limited resources. I had a small square of MDF, coffee stirrers and some leftover milliput to play with. After some tinkering I decided to make a pier with the stirrers. The concept was ok in theory but I came across problems once I added in more features. I attempted to use small waves crashing against the peir to try and frame the mini. Although in hindsight It seems to draw attention down and away from character. Im not quite sure how this could be fixed/changed but its something to think about. The water Im pretty happy with though. It is two layers of vallejo water texture. The first layer being coloured with ink then highlighted . The second layer being thin, clear and highlighted with white. The crashing of the waves is Citadel snow. The use of thinned white ink helps to blend the sea foam with the clear water helping to further improve the look. Ill leave the post here as I feel I have gone OTT with the description. If you have any criticism id love to hear it as I am always looking to improve.
