I'm back painting minis after several years hiatus, I have kicked things off with this repaint of my old metal space marine captain. I swapped out the old backpack for a new one and added a new banner from the newer kits. I also swapped the original storm bolter for a neater bolt pistol. Banner icon is all freehand, and all metal is my first attempt at NMM. Thanks for looking, you can see more of my work @druham on Instagram.

Lovely piantjob on one of my all-tme favorite space marine minis; owned this one myself. Excellent highlights, face and basing.

That is really nice work. As in any good painting the eye of the observer is drawn towards the face by the color and detail of the facial expression, but the whole mini is done at a great level of detail and care. The base is a great piece of painting on its own, and provides a very balanced color contrast between the earthy, warm sandstone on the stairs and the shiny blue armor and the NMM on the mini. The banner is very cleanly done, without going overboard on the detail or distracting from the person carrying it. Thanks for sharing this!
