This is my first diaroma. I made it as gift for Xmas 2019 for my mother who is a hapirst player. The 2 cats are her cats, Cérès (the shy black & white female) and Loki (the daring beige male).

Indeed, now that you point it, I agree the tree structure looks a bit unnatural on this picture. In fact the whole diorama goes under a "bell-glass" (I don't know the word in English, in French we just say a "bell"). The bell-glass being very high (I didn't find smaller on the market), I didn't want empty space in the top. Moreover the top of tree goes "straighter" once into the glass (the tree structure remains very flexible). Anyway I will keep in mind to improve the proportion of vegetation for next diaroma. ;-)
The paint job looks great. I really like the blending on the green dress and I’m sure your mother will love this present. I have a bit of constructive criticism (and it’s only my opinion for what it’s worth)....the tree/vegetation looks quite unnatural due to how far it hangs over the base.
