20 Mule Team Wheelers
This is part of a 1960's Death Valley Days 1/60 scale model of the 20 mule team borax train that freighted borax from the mine near Furnace Creek, CA in Death Valley to railroad terminal in Mojave, CA. They also freighted from Old Borate Mine (Now Rio Tinto, I believe) to Dagget, CA. While nominally a 20 mule team, they claim the Wheelers, or first team next to the first wagon were sometimes work horses. This is the teams I chose to start with. Hard to find horses that matched this exact model as it does not seem to be 1/60 mule-wise.
