Dark Elf Standard Bearer
One of the toughest challenges painting this limited edition dark elf standard bearer was the fact that so much of the mini consists of metal parts - Helmet, armour, sword and the blades on top of the standard. For this mini, I wanted it to be painted in metallics and not NMM. But because shapes on the whole dont really stand out in metallic paint, I experimented around with inventing a new way to paint metals. In the end, I found a sort of in-between solution, that seems to succeed in making the shape and detail of the metallic parts more distinct despite the shiny metallics. It's not really a refined technique yet, but I'll be playing around with the idea in the next few minis I'll be painting. Comments are appreciated.
