Space Marine Corps from Reddit minipainting contest
Space Marine - Custom Chapter Paint Scheme - My inspiration for color was the United States Marine Corps dress Blues Charlie/Delta (Blue pants with a red stripe down the sides and a beige shirt), but instead of a beige chest, I used that color on the shoulder pauldrons and tried to make it look like old parchment paper, like the U.S. Constitution. The traditional gold Marine Corps emblem is represented in various "metal" parts throughout the mini. I also wanted to go outside of my comfort zone and make it interesting from all angles, not just the front. This all led me to making a crystal out of polymer and doing my second-ever attempt at OSL, and using water texture to create splashes. Waterslide decals are also new to me; I layered multiple decals on top of each other to create unique images, then painted a little on top to age them a bit.
