British M3

M3 "Bellman" Stuart - Hello, My latest effort for Bolt Action is the M3 "Bellman" Stuart. The model I have painted was produced by Army Group North Miniatures and is a 1/56th scale resin and pewter model. At the time of purchase, no other 1/56th scale models of the Stuart (including the Warlord Games model) were available. Because I like "sticking to the plan", I went ahead and painted this model up to be included in my British Eighth Army force for Bolt Action. The "Bellman" was an M3 Stuart tank of 8th Hussars, 7th Armoured Division, knocked out near Tobruk, 15 December 1941. (https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205203664) There is an additional site on the HyperScale On-Line magazine which has excellent reference material regarding the "Bellman". Per some additional details found there: "At 15h30 of the second day Bellman was knocked out by the 5th Panzer Regiment about 5 miles north-east of Gabr Saleh and was left behind during the retreat." (http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/bellmanwm_1.htm) As far as I can tell, the reason why this particular tank is so notable is due to it having been photographed after the battle, and then considerable research done on the exact colors used for this particular variant of the British "Caunter Scheme" camouflage. I was not trying to exactly match the tank, but to do a general approximation so I could have a cool Caunter Scheme M3 for my Eighth Army force. As always, I've had great fun painting up all of the models for my Bolt Action British Eighth Army force. I hope you like it as well!
