The barrel and tube look fantastic and I like the overall concept and colour scheme. For the gold you might like to try using progressive thin paint washes to slowly build up the shading. Use an orangey brown to begin with and get darker. Then you can retouch the gold and add a bit of silver to the gold to start adding highlights. Keep it up dude!
I really like the red work on the barrel and the blade....but I don't care too much for the gold, as it is hard to see highlights and shading, and he almost looks a uniform color. Making the shading and highliting more exagerated might help some.
