Trolls in a Poisonous Mushroom Forest
Deep within the choking mists of the Gloomshade Forest, where the sun dares not pierce the canopy and the air is thick with fungal spores, dwells an ancient troll clan known as the Rotroot Pact. Once a wandering band consisting of cave and river trolls, they were lured into the poisonous forest by the whispers of Myk’thul, the Great Spore — a sentient mushroom god that thrives in decay. Starving and wounded from centuries of war with dwarves and men, the trolls were offered a dark bargain: eternal strength in exchange for their flesh and minds. They accepted. Now, fused with parasitic fungi that pulse with unholy life, the trolls have become guardians of the forest.
