Grey Knight Justicer Squad

Well this was my first attempt at a display base with a gameable squad. I can't say I'm real pleased with my progress. For some reason I just felt overly rushed. The total time (not including drying times) on the base was only about 2-3 hours, and the squad was only about 7 hours total. Normally I spend almost double that on a single mini. Not real sure why this piece went so fast. The base was sculpted out of sculpy. The log is a real twig repainted. The water, what you can see out of it was an expierement with a combination of techniques. It's basically pva glue then colored layers of blue and brown ink with a few different layers of clear varnish with different shades of thinned green paint mixed in. Being a non-gw color scheme guy, I did the Justicers up with red helms just to be different. I decided to go with metalics instead of nmm mostly because I wanted these guys to look a little weathered, especially the one holding that huge flamer. I mean, they're stuck in a toxic swamp, they're not going to be all shiny and clean. Not my best work, but over all I think the piece tells a story, which is what I think a display base should do. I'll post close up shots of the individual mini's later. Comments, recommendations...

I like the different scheme, nice idea. Bushido, for grey knights a purgation squad can be as few as 3 models, including the Justicar. I assume that's what this is since I play Daemonhunters and don't know anything about a "Justicer"squad.

Bushido - The red liquid on the flamer's let is intensional. It's supposed to be there. Close-ups (coming soon) will show the orange ink that was used for the flamer is also used on the leg. 5th member of the squad ended up my todler's hands and got trashed. I'm still trying to figer if i can at least recover it enough to be a dead body on the base.

It's pretty darned good, from what I can tell. The minis have a very coherent look to them (perfect for squads like this). The only painting problem I can see is on the flamer guy's left leg...it looks like something spilled on the greave, but I don't see any red liquid. There is a small nit-picky problem as well: squads like this usually have a minimum of 5 models to be legal in game terms. Great work, though. :)
