Old HeroQuest Orks

These fellows were part of a sort of experiment. They ended up being part of 2 really. My idea was that I had a 2 hour lunch break so I should be able to spend that time painting. I put some plastic minis, 5 bottles of paint, 3 brushes and some soap in a small box and put it in my locker. I only took paints I wouldn't mind losing (had duplicates of) and ones I needed. So, with Vallejo black, white, flat brown and reflective green, and GW rotting flesh, I produced these minis. What can you do with a VERY limited pallete. I am pretty happy with how they came out, especially as I have never painted orks or greenskins before. The second experiment came at the end when I had almost all of them painted and realized if I was going to stay true to the 5 paint color scheme, I needed to do NMM on the weapons (not having brought any metalic paints along). So, here is my first attempt at NMM. I think it came out pretty well for a first attempt and using only black and white paint. I'm not very fond of NMM in general and think my metalics are much better. For a sample of them check out my HeroQuest Chaos Warrior. Oh, I took them home to do the basing. I'm not that crazy.

The NMM on these guys is really high quality! I've also run into these guys more than my fair share of times in D&D games. They never looked so good! ;)
