Old HeroQuest Chaos Warrior

This was my response to the recent surge in interest in metalic paints. Cash is too tight right now for me to justify buying a mini for that contest - especially as I have a couple hundred unpainted minis sitting on the shelf glaring at me - so I picked something I had with a lot of metal surfaces and went at it. I am really pleased with how he came out. I especially like the axe. I based the armor in GW Tin Bitz and highlighted with Vallejo gold and GW Burnished gold. The axe was boltgun metal highlighted to Vallejo silver. The part I like the least is the horns as I have never done horns before and wasn't sure what they should look like or what colors to use. I would love to hear what you have to say about this guy.

I love his armour, it looks like worn brass to me. The axe looks like it could use a little more shading and highlighting to me though (someone better at painting than me will come along i'm sure and suggest how!). I don't wargame, just paint figures, s i've never read the bumpf that GW put out with their figs, but why has he got a ball between his horns? Shaz
