Anghkor Prok, Kroot Shaper
I like the look of Kroot models, they are ment to be carnivors and predators, they are very tall and they have a lot of character in them. As I painted this miniature before Kroot were released to the public, I don't know who designed this miniature, but I guess it was my favourite Brian Nelson. I opted for unusual color scheme: green-brown-black. It was ment to bring out the details that are on the miniature. Green also works well to define the creature as alien, not from this world. And I have chosen the exact shades of all these colors to look like he is able to easily hide in the nature and wait for his prey, being quite natural shades of the colors. This is my third miniature on which I trained the non-metalic metal technique and it looks really cool if done so. I start to love this technique. Now I have to get this damn retarder, but the painters shop is closed here, the lady is having her hollidays, so I have to wait few more weeks. I saw several other painters that did the same model and they all made the spines just one color - of course highlighted, but just one color. I went to local ZOO to watch porcupines, because I knew that these animals have stripes on the spines and I wanted to give the miniature the same effect. The base carries simple stone-like icon that the Tau army uses (Kroot belong to Tau army). And on the front of the base, there is the name of the model, Anghkor Prok, written in Tau alphabet.
