Tau Ethereal
I admit that I have stolen the idea to make the base like the Tau-symbol from Vaitalla, she did it before me and I saw it there first. But I tried to do it very different way than she did. I was lucky, because the guy that I bought the model from added two gun drones to the mini, just as a bonus. And quickly I realized that it would be great to use it as a base terrain, for the Tau symbol appereance. I cut the guns out of it and used them to create the front stick. I cut the bottom of the drone disk, but not all of it and glued it to the base so it looks like it's levitating above the ground. For the paint scheme, I went for dark cloak, much darker than the way GW painted the mini (I think they painted it mid-brown from inside and white from outside), to make the inner bright shroud stand out. I think that I got much closer to the gold with my NMM gold, it's not that shiny and that yellow anymore. Before I was using 50/50 mix of Golden Yellow and Snakebite Leather, this time I added Bleached Bone to the mix, the same portion, so it's 33/33/33 now. For the head of Ethereal I went for much more blue color, because if I stayed in the same colors GW used, the head would dissappear in the collar painted blue/grey way.
