The Red Lioness (sort of)

I painted her to be my Dark Elf Highborn general. The purple parts of her armor/barding were painted purely with inks (4 washes of purple, 2 washes of black, 1 wash of blue) and the filigree was done in copper to stand out (I like my dark elves to be ostentatious). I think this is the hardest miniature I've ever painted! Please let me know what you think of the ink style?

This looks at least like a 7. But I can't tell, even if I want to, if this gets a much better or a much worse rating with a good photo. But for sure It would get a much different rating. Looks like good work, I like the armor (from what I can see). What I don't like: The yellow parts (sorry, but theylook pretty awful on that violet) and the lack of highlighting on that horse. But maybe that's just the photo again... Whatever, the overall look is cool anyway. Happy painting, better photographing and keep it up!

The inked armor looks very nice :) Is the yellow a part of your army's color scheme? I would take the highlights up a little bit, and put a piece of paper behind the mini so that you can't see the primer cans. I think I'm going to have to go experiment with inks now, I really like the iridescent look you have achieved.

She was primed with a 50/50 water/smelly primer and the ink went right on top of that.
