Nearly caught! (Reaper Ranger #2648)
There's my very first experiment with a light source on this mini by B. Jackson I decided to go with light-effect painting mainly thanking to Jaycan who suggested me the idea and gave me some useful tips (and a lot of fun, too :-D) The idea here: this Ranger is chasing some brigands at night and he misses them by few minutes: the campfire is still burning, but they're escaped... A thin wirl of smoke raises from the fire and the embers are still hot and lighting... He'll catch them next time! Here i used a little cork to make stones, static grass and sand for the terrain, small branches as branches, small pieces of balsa wood as embers and a very little cotton as smoke. I painted the mini completely, than started with light reflections first drybrushing slightly with orange, than using the same colour with very thinned layers where i drybrushed it before, than repeated the same process with red. Finally, I darkened the shades where fire-light don't shine. I hope you'll like my experiment, as i'm quite pleased with it! Comments and questions and tips are always welcome! Cheers =) Luca
