Inquisitor - Eldar Ranger

IMHO one of the best miniatures in the Inquisitor line. I have painted the cloack using a "deep space" pattern with stars and a couple of spiral systems. The procedure to paint them is simple but effective, first of all shade the cloack as usual (I have used a black base and added GW Deadly Nightshade, an old color similar to the new Midnight Blue) Then start painting the points with the stars and the shape of the systems using a dark color really really diluited (GW Deadly Nightshade) Add some spot in different color just to have some variety (I have used GW Liche Purple) Add small dots of a lighter color (GW Shadow Grey), for the single stars just draw a single dot in center of the points you have painted, for the systems just group the points in the center of the shape. Remember to diluite the color and add a bit of flow enhancer so the paint will be semi-transparent. Repeat the same procedure for a couple of times trying to draw smaller dots, in this way the shaded dots simulate a light. At least add a small white dot as last highlight and if you like draw four lines around some of the single dots to simulate light beams. The key to obtain a good effect is just patience ;) For the other parts I have used NMM on the armor, the face plate and the sword. I have also added a wood pattern on some parts of the rifle and the gun to enhance the effect of a lone bounty killer with custom weapons. Comments are welcome Paolo

i see it in real during the GD and i love the painting that you did on this model, but the freehant on the back is a good idea but techniquely is a bit under the rest of the mini ( you don't get a lot of water in the paint) and i don't really like the NMM but is my opinion, i really love the plinth and in general the coulour sheme, i really love the base also, for me technikly it's a 8.5 because of the grey (nmm) part, of the brown, and the freehand and the less of contrast lignt-shadow in the back. but an excellent work, in all the ranger that i see, your is 1rst. julien

Thank you all for the comments :) Oghma: It's a matter of taste and probably a freehand filigrane will fit better this miniature. Maybe in the next Eldar Ranger I pant ;) Dukeleto: I have not converted at all the neck of the miniature, just glued in place the standard head and cant see anything wrong in it. Maybe is just the picture.
