You clearly have the right ideas, but your painting doesn't look very clean - the green cloak in particular looks a little "wishy washy" (not the best comment I know...)
I'd be willing to wager you use a white undercoat, which requires more, thinner layers of paint. Use a black coat and it will add definition. If you DO use a black undercoat then practice your greens ;) Also, try blacklining to further enhance the definition.
